Reasons Why Your Skin Feels Dry

Tight, flaky or itchy skin usually means the barrier is compromised. Hot showers, harsh foam cleansers and skipping moisturizer on damp skin are the three culprits we see most in winter appointments.

The fix is simpler than most people expect. Switch to a lukewarm rinse and a cream cleanser, then apply a ceramide moisturizer within a minute of toweling off. That one habit seals in water better than any expensive mask.

If dryness comes with redness or cracking, add a thin layer of facial oil over your cream at night and run a humidifier while you sleep. And if patches persist longer than two weeks, book a skin check, since eczema and thyroid shifts can look exactly like plain dryness.
